Lakeside Park
The new destination playground at Lakeside Park is now open in Big Lake, Minnesota, and Midwest Playscapes is proud to have partnered with the City of Big Lake to bring this exciting community space to life.
Designed to serve children ages 2 to 12, the playground offers separate play zones tailored to different ages and abilities, giving every child a space to explore, climb, and play at their own level. The play area features Playworld playground equipment for ages 2–5 and 5–12, including a signature SkyTower with a towering tube slide, multiple climbing features, and lake-inspired play elements that connect the design to the park’s scenic waterfront setting.
Accessibility was built into every layer of this project. An accessible boat play element from Playtime, along with transfer stations on both the toddler ship structure and the school-age structure, helps children of all abilities join in the fun. Shade structures from USA Shade also provide comfortable gathering areas for families throughout the playground.
The playground is finished with more than 8,000 square feet of No Fault poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, creating a durable, ADA-accessible surface built to support years of active daily use.
